About
About Raahi
Raahi is a community safety alerts app being built in Delhi, for Delhi. It is designed to help neighbours share what they see on their streets, calmly and quickly.
Why we're building it
A blocked road, a waterlogged underpass, a lane that felt unsafe last night: neighbours often know first. Raahi is designed to pass that local knowledge on, with checks so that a single report is clearly marked as unconfirmed until others nearby confirm it.
The name comes from राही, the Hindi and Urdu word for a traveller: someone on the road.
What Raahi is, and isn't
Local alerts
Alerts about the streets near you, from people nearby.
Confirmed by neighbours
Independent confirmations are designed to help an alert earn trust. Moderator review is planned.
English and Hindi
Planned in both languages from day one.
Independent
Raahi isn't affiliated with, or endorsed by, Delhi Police or the Delhi government. We mention 112, 181 and Himmat Plus to point you to official services, not because of any partnership.
Not an SOS app
Raahi complements SOS apps and doesn't replace them. In an emergency, call 112. For SOS, use Himmat Plus, Delhi Police's women safety app.
How we try to work
What, not who
Alerts describe what's happening. In the current prototype, notes that name people or share phone or vehicle numbers are sent back for editing.
Privacy for sensitive reports
Harassment and stalking reports are designed to show no username and a blurred location.
Honest about limits
No system is perfect. We say what's built, what's planned and what can go wrong.
Where things stand
As of 17 October 2026, Raahi hasn't launched yet. We're testing a working prototype with sample data around Delhi. This site describes how the app is designed, and some details may change before launch.
Who's behind Raahi
Raahi is being built by Team Raahi, in Delhi, as an independent project.
It isn't affiliated with, or endorsed by, Delhi Police or the Delhi government.
